Niagara Falls to New York City

Day one arrive at majestic Niagara Falls for a three night stay. Day two depart for Medina, the home of the Medina Railroad. Here you will embark on an excursion on a vintage train ride through the countryside. Later, head over to Lockport where you will enjoy a cruise on the Erie Canal. This grand canal with 35 locks was created in the 1800’s to connect the Hudson River with the Niagara River to allow large vessels to travel across new York State. Day three cross the border into Canada to see the mighty Niagara Falls up close on your Maid of the Mist Cruise. The afternoon is at leisure. This evening before returning to your hotel, enjoy dinner near the Falls. Day four depart Niagara Falls and visit the historic Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion. “Sonnenberg," German for “sunny hill” is sure to delight with its nine formal gardens and 40-room Queen Anne style mansion. In October you will be able to see Asters, Chrysanthemums, and other seasonal bloomers. Continue your journey to Cooperstown, home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame for the next two nights. Day five explore and discover baseball history at famous National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. Later, stop at the Brewery Ommegang, famous for its Classic Belgian style ales. Day six depart Cooperstown and travel through New York State, following the route of the Hudson, to the United States Military Academy, West Point. Here you will learn the story of West Point and its significance in history. After lunch at the West Point Club, you will continue to New York City. Enjoy leisure time in “the city that never sleeps”. Day seven begin your day with a fun-filled breakfast at the famous Ellen’s Stardust Diner, a 50’s-themed restaurant featuring a singing wait staff. After breakfast, enjoy a locally guided tour of the “Big Apple.” You’ll see Greenwich Village, the Wall Street district, Little Italy, Chinatown, the Empire State Building, Central Park and other time-honored landmarks. Visit St. Paul’s Chapel in lower Manhattan and the afternoon is a leisure. Tonight enjoy a farewell dinner at a local restaurant. Day eight the tour ends and you head home.
