Winchester Mystery House - Santana Row

« back to classes page
In 1884, a wealthy widow named Sarah Winchester began construction on a project of such magnitude that it kept carpenters’ hammers pounding 24 hours a day for 38 years! The home was given its name due to many unexplained oddities; stairs leading to ceilings, a window built into the floor, doors that open onto blank walls, a seeming obsession with the numeral “13,” cobweb motifs, etc. We are taking the Mansion tour where we will be touring 110 of the 160 rooms. Highlights of the 65-minute tour include the “$25,000 Room,” hayloft, Sarah’s bedroom, Séance room, Morning room, Grand Ballroom, Venetian dining room, “Hall of Fires” and guest reception area, among many other destinations. Following the home tour, you may stroll through the self-guided Victorian gardens and visit the Antique Products Museum, Firearms Museum, and Gift Shop. Afterwards, enjoy free time at Santana Row for a no-host lunch
