Vietnamese Fried Rice with Pickled Vegetables

Celebrate the New Lunar Year with delicious and authentic Vietnamese food. Annie Thu Henrich will teach how to make delicious fried rice with fresh ingredients to suit any dietary needs. We will use chicken, shrimp, eggs in addition to Chinese sausages (Lap Xuong), fresh carrots, sweet peas, mushrooms, soybean cake, green onions and cilantro. Students will use soy sauce for the vegetarian cooks or the Vietnamese fish sauce to flavor this dish. You will also learn how to make fresh, crisp mixed vegetable pickles that are delicious with any meal or as a snack. You will get to sample the food we make and take home a New Year Good Luck Red Envelope. Bring an apron. $15 material fee paid to instructor in class.
